The LG7000 series of TVs made by LG is known to run on Linux using a MIPS processor and possibly the ChaplinEV board. At the time of writing, the latest firmware uses a heavily patched MontaVista version of Linux 2.6.10, BusyBox 1.2.1, glibc and Nano-X. Unfortunately, LG only provide the open source code they have used and not the code specific to the TV so you cannot simply roll your own firmware. Firmware is also downloaded over the air so it is unclear as to whether it is even possible to obtain a firmware file to inspect. Perhaps more could be discovered from the RS232 port but I doubt many people would want to risk bricking an expensive TV anyway!
