Yep. That's it.
I've re-installed the mipsel-gcc in the right directory, and -indead- it seams 
to work OK now. (Althou I did need to set up some additional sym-links)

Anycase, I've managed to get the kernel compiled, and this is the result on my 
personal decstation 5000/33.
