Create new page for D-Link VTA

New page

D-Link VTA is a voice-over-IP analogue telephone adapter created for the Vonage VoIP phone service. It is sold in (at least) the United States, Canada, and the UK. In the United States, its full model name is VTA-VR. In Canada, it is VTA-CV.

== Hardware Details ==

The VTA is based on the AR7 router-on-a-chip architecture by [http://www.ti.com/ Texas Instruments]. The processor's model number is TNETV1015ZDW.

This device has 16MB of SD-RAM and 8MB of flash ROM. The latter is provided by a single 4Mbx16 EN29LV640 chip by [http://www.essi.com.tw Eon Silicon Solution Inc].

It features one 10/100Mb Ethernet port, and two POTS telephone ports.

== Linux Operating System ==

Its operating system is a variant of Linux 2.4.17 by MontaVista. This kernel has been used for several years on various embedded MIPS devices.

Linux version 2.4.17_mvl21-malta-mips_fp_le (alpha@06387) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release/MontaVista)) #3 | 4 20 17:44:45 CST 2006

The device ships with an SSH server (Dropbear) activated. It requires the same account as the administrative web interface (with user name Admin).

== Serial Console ==

The serial port (/dev/tts/0) is available on JF1. The pin-out is as follows. Pin 1 is on the left if you are facing the front of the device.

1 Receive
2 Ground
3 3.3v
4 Not connected (NC)
