SONIC (System-Oriented Network Interface Controller) is an National Semiconductor 10Mbit/s ethernet controller. It's being used for example in the MIPS Magnum 4000 family and the Olivetti M700-10.
[edit] Linux support
There is a driver but it's suffering from slight bitrot in Linux 2.4 and Linux 2.6. Fixing shouldn't be hard.
