MIPS64 is less a processor type than a processor architecture though it's often used to describe a processor architecture. To increase the confusion the term MIPS64 is also often used to indicate a generic 64-bit MIPS microprocessor. The MIPS64 ISA page describes the instruction set of MIPS64 microprocessors and how it relates to other MIPS architectures.
