Pete Popov (pete@embeddedalley.com) has made some progress
and posted a patch (or at least a message about where to find it)
on this list a couple of times.  It's on my list to continue the work, 
among
other things I'm trying to accomplish.  I'll be better about posting
progress, good or bad, as I make it.  :-)
