That message is from init.  Do:
        grep '^6:' /etc/inittab
to see what its complaining about.  Under RH51 at least id 6 is:
        6:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty6
but it may be something else on your root image.  <shrug>  I'll have to
dig it up.
