        many thanks for this pointer.  However, the proper url today
seems to be:

ftp://sgigate.sgi.com/pub/doc/ARCH/MIPSIV.3.2.ps
ftp://sgigate.sgi.com/pub/doc/ARCH/MIPSIV.3.2.A4size.ps

The first of these documents is 1.75M long.  I'd expect the second one
to be nearly the same size.
